Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, in a statement, said that the state government is withdrawing the night curfew order in the wake of several cabinet colleagues and bureaucrats expressing displeasure about this.
The Chief Minister made the announcement following a meeting with Health Minister K Sudhakar, members of the state Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) for COVID-19 and senior officials.
Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa in response to a question from reporters about the possibility of imposing a night curfew said "..there is no such plans for now."
Of the 44 fresh cases, 42 were reported from Leh and two from Kargil, while 100 patients – 89 in Leh and 11 in Kargil – were discharged in the last 24 hours.
Night curfew will remain in force from 10 pm to 5 am, announced the Chief Minister, warning people against letting their guard down under any circumstances.
