Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will move the motion -- "That this House do consider the White Paper on the Indian Economy and its impact on lives of the people of India" in the Lower House -- under Rule 342 24.
It further alleged that the "innovative" methods to annihilate the peasantry invented by the Modi government are sought to be 'hidden in the larger framework of the nationalist narrative'.
At 56 minutes, it was Sitharaman's shortest budget speech. She also holds the distinction of delivering the longest budget speech at two hours and forty minutes in 2020.
Sitharaman emphasised the government's plans to set up more medical colleges and said that the government aims to serve the people through improved healthcare services.
"Forty thousand normal rail bogies will be converted to the Vande Bharat standards to enhance safety, convenience and comfort of passengers," FM Sitharaman said.
Sitharaman said that fulfilling aspirations and needs of Garib (poor), Mahilaye (women), Yuva (youth) and Annadata (farmers) are the highest priority of the government.
While presenting the Interim Budget in Lok Sabha, Sitharaman announced that one crore households will receive up to 300 units of free electricity per month.
The Indian economy is projected to grow close to 7 per cent in the financial year 2024-25 which starts this April, said the Ministry of Finance in a review report.
