Surendra Koli, who was acquitted in all 13 cases linked to the Nithari killings, was found hanging at his tea stall in Haridwar on Friday. Police said the circumstances were being investigated from all angles and a post-mortem was conducted.

The failure of the prosecution was nothing short of a "betrayal of public trust" by responsible agencies, the high court said.
