Assam Police officials have reached Singapore to investigate the mysterious death of singer Zubeen Garg, who died while swimming on September 19. A special investigation team under the CID is coordinating with local authorities to examine the site and details of the case
Violence broke out in Assam’s Baksa district as protesters attacked a convoy carrying five accused in the Zubeen Garg death case. Police resorted to lathi-charge and teargas to control the mob, which set vehicles ablaze and injured several people.
North East India Festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta and singer Zubeen Garg’s manager Siddhartha Sharma were remanded to 14 days’ police custody after being arrested in Delhi in connection with the singer’s death in Singapore. Assam CID is leading the investigation.
