The Department of Financial Services (DFS), in collaboration with Public Sector Banks (PSBs), will unveil a Composite Salary Account Package for Central Government employees on 14 January 2026. The initiative aims to provide unified banking and insurance benefits across cadres.
To further strengthen their financial health, the government is expected to infuse Rs 3,000 crore in the public sector general insurance companies during the current quarter
Last year, the Union Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi cleared proposal to provide capital support to National Insurance, Oriental Insurance and United India Insurance.
