India emerges as world’s second-fastest growing solar energy market

India’s solar power capacity has skyrocketed from 3 GW in 2014 to 162.15 GW by June 2026, marking a 50-fold increase. The country added 37 GW in 2025, overtaking the US in annual additions to become the world’s second-largest solar growth market.
