Defence Minister Rajnath Singh commissioned INS Mahendragiri, the sixth Project 17A stealth frigate, in Visakhapatnam. Built with more than 75 per cent indigenous content, the warship will strengthen India's eastern seaboard, expand blue-water capabilities and reinforce maritime security in the Indo-Pacific.

Taragiri, the fourth Nilgiri-class (Project 17A) frigate, has been delivered to the Indian Navy. Built by MDL, the vessel features advanced stealth, sensors, and BrahMos capability, with 75% indigenous content. It is the fourth P17A ship delivered within 11 months.
