The University of Hyderabad (UoH) has once again secured a strong position in the 2026 QS World University Rankings by Subject, with seven disciplines achieving global recognition. India overall has 529 programmes ranked across 99 institutions, reflecting the country’s growing academic influence.
About 79 Indian institutions were ranked among the world's top 550 universities, up from 69 last year. The country also has the fifth highest number of new entries after China, the US, the UK and Korea.
