The movement of a migrant tiger near coal mines in Mancherial district has kept forest and SCCL officials on high alert. Extensive safety measures, including CCTV camera traps and joint patrols, have been put in place to protect both miners and the animal.
The remote village in the district has a population of 1500, mostly tribals. Their main occupation is agriculture as nearly 80 percent of the families have land holdings of two to three acres and the remaining work as farm labourers locally and outside the village.
