The rupee pared initial gains to settle 3 paise lower at 95.74 against the US dollar on Monday, pressured by a stronger dollar, crude prices, importer demand and caution over fresh US sanctions on Iran amid weak domestic equity markets
The rupee depreciated 11 paise to 96.36 against the US dollar in early trade on Wednesday as rising crude oil prices, escalating geopolitical tensions and increased demand for the greenback weighed on sentiment. RBI measures and foreign inflows, however, continued to provide support.
