A Meerut court is set to deliver its verdict in the Saurabh Rajput murder case, involving his wife Muskan Rastogi and co-accused Sahil Shukla. The prosecution has sought the death penalty, while the defence cited absence of eyewitnesses and sought leniency
Currently lodged in Meerut District Jail, Muskaan made the request to the Jail Superintendent on Saturday, seeking legal representation from the State. Meanwhile, her lover and co-accused, Sahil Shukla, has yet to decide whether he needs a government lawyer
Superintendent of Police, Meerut City, Ayush Vikram Singh stated that the investigation into the motive behind the murder is ongoing, and the minor girl may provide crucial insights into the events leading up to the brutal killing of Saurabh Rajput on March 4 by his wife, Muskaan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil Shukla.
Police revealed that on March 4, Saurabh was drugged, killed, and dismembered into 15 pieces. His remains were then placed in a drum and sealed with cement for later disposal. That night, Muskaan laced Saurabh’s food with sleeping pills. Once he lost consciousness, she and Sahil fatally stabbed him before cutting his body into 15 pieces.
