"Saif Ali Khan has come out of surgery and is out of danger. He is currently in recovery and the doctors are monitoring his progress. All family members are safe and the police are investigating the incident," read the official statement released by the actor's team

The Bollywood actor suffered six knife wounds, two of them deep and one close to the spine. He is now undergoing surgery supervised by a neurosurgeon

An unidentified person entered Saif Ali Khan's house and both of them had a scuffle. Some family members of the actor were present in the house at the time of the incident
