Punjab farmers heading to Delhi for the Kisan Mahapanchayat against the proposed India-US trade deal were stopped at the Shambhu border by Haryana Police. Later, Haryana's agriculture minister met farmer leaders, accepted their memorandum and assured them their demands would be addressed

At the Shambhu and Khanauri borders, JCB and other machines have been deployed to remove the concrete blocks to clear the Shambhu-Ambala and Sangrur-Jind roads, which remained closed for over a year after the protesting farmers camped there

This comes after clashes at Shambhu border two days ago, where police prevented them from advancing toward the national capital

According to order issued by the Deputy Commissioner, any procession on foot, vehicles, or other modes has been prohibited till further orders

Directs it to remove the barricading set up at the Shambhu border near Ambala where farmers have been camping since February 13

Earlier, Union Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda on Friday said that efforts to find a solution continue and the next round of talks with farmers will take place on Sunday.
