The Bahuda Yatra, or return leg of Lord Jagannath’s Rath Yatra, began early in Puri with the ceremonial Pahandi ritual. Amid tight security, lakhs of devotees witnessed the deities’ return procession to the main temple after their nine-day stay at Gundicha Temple.
