Odisha Cabinet approved the Shree Jagannath Temple Land Management Rules, 2026, introducing an online system, district-level scrutiny, GIS mapping and transparent valuation for temple land settlements. The rules strengthen oversight, enable appeals, penalise fraudulent claims and replace earlier land management policies
The Puri district administration has prohibited drone operations within a 5-km radius of the holy town from July 16 to 27 for the Rath Yatra. Police will also deploy a Cyber Rath to help devotees report and prevent online fraud
