Balvir Singh, a resident of the town of New Westminster, is facing a second-degree murder charge for stabbing 46 year-old Kulwant Kaur to death on October 13.

Charged with the offenses, Gurpreet Singh, who resides on Belmont Road in Ilford, made an appearance at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

A 21-year-old Sikh man, who was on a student visa to the US, died after he drowned in a lake in California.

Ahluwalia said the man, a Black, assaulted him on April 26 at his workplace, the Quality Inn in Brownsville.
