Biles demonstrated a strong Cheng vault, earning the highest score of 15.100. She also delivered a steady performance on the uneven bars, scoring 14.333. Additionally, she received top marks on the balance beam and floor exercise.
Simone revealed to fans on her Instagram Story that she had suffered an injury on her hand after being bitten, and showed off the gash on her index finger.
USA Gymnastics tweeted early on Sunday that, "Simone has withdrawn from the event final for floor and will make a decision on beam later this week. Either way, we're all behind you, Simone."
"We remain in awe of Simone, who continues to handle this situation with courage and grace, and all of the athletes who have stepped up during these unexpected circumstances."
"The outpouring love and support I've received has made me realise I'm more than my accomplishments and gymnastics, which I never truly believed before [emoticon: white heart]," said Simone in a tweet posted on Thursday.
Mark Adams made the announcement after US gymnastics superstar Simone Biles dropped out of the competition due to problems dealing with psychological pressure to perform.
"We are pleased that we have found a way together that enables the hockey team to make a socio-political statement," said DOSB President Alfons Hormann.
