Sri Lanka Navy safely transferred 204 Iranian personnel from the troubled naval vessel IRINS Bushehr to Colombo after an engine failure. The development follows the sinking of Iranian frigate IRIS Dena amid escalating US-Iran tensions
According to a spokesman of the Navy here, during the ship’s stay in harbour, several interactions including cross training of personnel in various topics of mutual interest were held between the ship’s crew and personnel from the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN).
Navy Spokesman Captain Indika De Silva told Xinhua news agency that teams continued to be on scene to douse the flames and the fire had been confined to the back of the vessel
