Actor-politician Vijay received a bomb threat via email for his Neelankarai residence in Chennai. The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad conducted a thorough search early Thursday morning and confirmed it was a hoax. Similar threats have targeted other city personalities.
A political rally led by Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) chief and actor Vijay in Karur turned tragic on Saturday night when a sudden power outage triggered panic and a deadly crowd surge. At least 23 people, including children and elderly attendees, lost their lives, while over 30 were hospitalised with critical injuries.
