Anupam Kher wished Robert De Niro on his birthday, recalling how he wrote about Mean Streets and Taxi Driver during drama school. Kher said his childhood dream of meeting De Niro eventually became a friendship and screen collaboration.
The filmmaker, who most recently directed "Killers of the Flower Moon", will be honoured in an award ceremony at the Berlinale Palast on February 20, 2024, the festival announced on Thursday.
