Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar formally staked claim to form the next government after being unanimously elected leader of the Congress Legislature Party. Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has invited him to take oath as Chief Minister along with his Council of Ministers on June 3 at Raj Bhavan, Bengaluru.
BJP leader Devarajegowda lodged a complaint with the Karnataka Governor seeking prosecution sanction against CM Siddaramaiah and DCM DK Shivakumar over a viral audio clip alleging cash distribution during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Terming Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot's decision as "anti-Constitution and against law", he said. It will be questioned in court and that he will battle it out legally.
The Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka administered him the oath of office and secrecy to Gehlot at the Raj Bhavan.
