Two decades after The Devil Wears Prada premiered, Meryl Streep has clarified that her portrayal of Miranda Priestly was not based on Anna Wintour. Speaking on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, she revealed that she drew inspiration from director Mike Nichols’ sly humour and Clint Eastwood’s understated authority.
