In his Shanghai Masters quarterfinal, Machac delivered some of his best tennis to overcome World No. 2, winning 7-6(5), 7-5. Both players showcased high-quality play, but the 23-year-old shifted into another gear to secure his second victory over a Top-5 opponent, following his win against Djokovic in the Geneva semifinals.
