Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) Chief Vijay will lead a protest march which aims to highlight the ongoing agitation by residents of about 20 villages who have opposed the project since 2022. Vijay sought permission to hold the meeting on January 19 or 20, and Kanchipuram Police allowed him to do so on January 20
According to insiders, the meeting, which is underway at the party headquarters, is focusing on finalising the roadmap for Vijay’s upcoming statewide tour, set to begin in December.
TVK General Secretary N. Anand has issued the advisory as per the direction of Vijay, he said that the party cadres must desist from attending the first state conference if they consume alcohol.
Though Vijay announced launch of his political outfit in February, he chose not to contest Lok Sabha elections nor did it support any party during the polls
