Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala accused the Modi government of reducing subsidised LPG cylinders under the Ujjwala scheme, claiming the move will burden Karnataka’s women with ₹900 crore annually and impose nearly ₹25,000 crore on women nationwide
The additional subsidy on LPG cylinders will come into effect immediately as a 'Raksha Bandhan' and 'Onam' gift, and will cost the exchequer Rs 7,680 crore, the minister added.
