According to OCHA, global humanitarian funding needs for this year have surpassed $55 billion, with less than 30 percent currently funded.

Created in 2005, the fund "has helped millions of people get food, health care, shelter and protection this year," the under-secretary-general for humanitarian affairs, Mark Lowcock said.
