Jaishankar tweeted after their meeting here on Wednesday that they "exchanged views on working together during India's G20 Presidency".

Guterres will be on an official visit to India from October 18-20, 2022. This will be UNSG's first visit to India, since he commenced his second term in office in January 2022.

He was received at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport by India's Permanent Representative at the UN Ruchira Kamboj, Maharashtra Chief Secretary M.K. Shrivastava, and protocol head Manisha Mhaiskar.

It is the first visit by a senior Indian minister to the US after President Joe Biden assumed office in January.

Guterres reiterated his call for COVID-19 vaccines to be seen as “a global public good".
