UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has backed High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk’s call for a prompt, impartial inquiry into the killings of protesters in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
"Today marks a grim milestone for the world," Turk said in a statement on Thursday, after Gaza health authorities reported that the Palestinian death toll in the Gaza Strip had reached 40,005, with 92,401 injured since the conflict began on October 7, 2023.
