US Vice President JD Vance has publicly distanced himself from President Donald Trump’s defence of the Iran war after the Republican Party suffered major losses in the midterm elections. Vance blamed the unpopular conflict for the GOP’s poor performance, arguing voters rejected the party over issues including the war, cost of living and foreign policy.
