Vijayawada Airport director M Lakshmikanth Reddy announced that the upcoming new terminal, expected to be completed by October, will enable the implementation of a hub-and-spoke model for international passengers. The terminal will feature six aerobridges, multi-level operations, and advanced facilities.
A Visakhapatnam-bound Air India Express flight from Vijayawada was cancelled on December 18 due to a technical snag detected before take-off. Passengers, including M Venkaiah Naidu and Andhra Pradesh ministers, were provided accommodation, refunds, and rescheduling options
The Chief Minister issued these guidelines during a review of the airport expansion works at his residence in Undavalli, which was also attended by Union Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu.
