Flight and train operations across Andhra Pradesh were severely disrupted by Cyclone Montha on Tuesday. All 32 flights from Visakhapatnam Airport and several services from Vijayawada and Tirupati were cancelled, while 120 trains were suspended across the South Central Railway zone

According to the airport officials here on Thursday, the day services would be increased in the wake of the decision.

The objective of the exercise was to test the efficacy of the contingency plans and procedures to deal with hijack threats by all stakeholders.

The AAC requested the Airport Director to work out a detailed plan towards improving the ranking.
