Several incidents of alleged post-poll violence were reported from multiple districts in West Bengal following the Assembly elections. Clashes, arson and attacks involving TMC, BJP, ISF and CPI(M) workers were reported, while police deployed additional forces and began investigations into the incidents

The Home Ministry had earlier asked the state government to submit a report but has not yet received it, the officials said.

The Home Ministry in a letter to the West Bengal Chief Secretary on Monday asked him to submit a detailed report on the violence.
