Adilabad: A devotee was killed while six others sustained injuries when a swarm of honeybees attacked them near a temple in the deep forests of Chandaram village in Luxettipet mandal on Sunday.
Sources said that the deceased has been identified as Katta Venu (35) of Dandepalli mandal. The identity of the injured was yet to be known. They also belonged to Dandepalli.
The honeybees attacked Venu and others when they were performing prayers at the temple located on a hillock locally known as Chinnayagutta.
Venu, who suffered serious injuries, died while being shifted to a nearby hospital while others escaped with minor injuries and are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mancherial.
