Raigad: Around 10 to 12 tourists were safely evacuated from a waterfall in Maharashtra’s Raigad district after water levels surged dangerously following heavy rainfall on Sunday, police said.
The rescue operation was carried out at Adoshi waterfall near Khopoli with the help of the local police after the waterfall’s flow increased significantly, posing a risk to visitors, an official said.
According to officials, individuals who were stuck amid rising water levels were brought to safety without any reported injuries. As a precautionary measure, police personnel have been deployed at the site to prevent tourists from approaching the waterfall, they said. Authorities have advised the public to exercise caution near water bodies during the monsoon season.
