10 persons booked for cheating in the name of Dasara gifts

Police have registered cases against individuals for publicising lucky draw coupons on various social media platforms following the Dasara festival.

Rajanna-Sircilla: The district police registered cases against 10 persons for cheating people by offering bumper gifts on the occasion of Dasara.

Some persons were publicising on various social media platforms asking people to win bumper gifts in lucky draws by purchasing coupons worth Rs.100. Goats, rice cookers, chicken, silk saree, 10 gram silver coins and other gifts were offered. Since this was illegal, police registered the cases against Srikanth, Avunuri Prasanth, Mahender, Venkatesh and Swamy from Vemulawada and E Vikas, N Sai, E Ajay, R Ramesh and E Chandu from Kodimunja.


Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan advised the people to be alert about prize money, gifts and other offers being offered on the occasion of Dasara.

Asking the people to bring their notice if anybody was announced such offers, SP warned of legal action against such people.
