Hyderabad: A 10-year-old boy drowned in a pit filled with water at Thattiannaram village in Hayathnagar on the city outskirts late on Tuesday.
The child, Anirudh from Hanuman Nagar, had gone out to play with his friends on a bicycle informing his parents in the evening, but did not return. Relatives who realized he was missing searched for him in all possible places, but could not find him. According to the police, while cycling and playing in the vicinity, Anirudh had slipped and fell into the pit, which was filled with rain water. His friends tried to save him, but he drowned.
On receiving information, the Hayathnagar police retrieved the body. A case was booked and is being investigated.
