Hyderabad: All out efforts have been launched by State health department in collaboration with other line departments to intensify Covid vaccine administration drive across the State. As part of these efforts, for the past few days, the daily average doses of Covid vaccines being administered is hovering between 3 lakh to 3.5 lakh in the State.

Senior health officials said that by the end of December, the department could complete 100 per cent administration of first dose of Covid vaccines and at least 70 per cent of second dose of vaccines to eligible individuals.

The health department has ample stocks of vaccines at its disposal to ensure a large number of eligible individuals are administered with vaccines. At present, there are roughly 61 lakh doses of Covid vaccine stock in Telangana out of which 47 lakh are Covishield and 14 lakh doses are Covaxin.

During inauguration of 100-bed health care facility at District Hospital in Kondapur, Health Minister, T Harish Rao on Wednesday urged people to come forward for vaccination. “While health and other departments are holding special vaccination camps, the voluntary participation of general public is important to make the vaccine administration drive a success,” he said.

Vaccine status:

1. Total Covid dose 1 administered so far: 2,58,80232
2. Total Covid dose 2 administered so far: 1,37,32,025
3. Eligible individuals who are due for first dose: 18 lakh
4. Eligible individuals due for second dose: 23 lakh
