Telangana: 10,000 health workers to be trained in administering vaccine

A two-day training programme on identifying field level health care workers who will administer the vaccine and provide them training was inaugurated on Monday.

Hyderabad: As part of the measures to strengthen administration of Covid-19 vaccine, whenever it is made available, health authorities on Monday said that close to 10,000 health care workers will be provided training in handling the vaccine.

A two-day training programme on identifying field level health care workers who will administer the vaccine and provide them training was inaugurated on Monday.


Director of Public Health Dr G Srinivasa Rao said that necessary arrangements to improve cold chain management while transporting the Covid-19 vaccine are also underway. The State health authorities are expecting a Covid-19 vaccine to be available after January and preparations are underway to handle at least three crore doses of the vaccine in Telangana State.

In the meeting, which was attended by District Medical and Health Officers (DM&HOs) from across the State, senior health officials, the DPH said that the department is already prepared to roll out the vaccine whenever it is made available in Telangana State.
