Amaravati: With the Opposition Telugu Desam Party members refusing to change their attitude to repeatedly obstruct the proceedings of the ongoing budget session of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Speaker Tammineni Sitaram on Tuesday suspended 11 more among them from the house.

Earlier, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy appealed to the TDP members to acquit themselves with dignity. However, they did not change their behaviour and swarmed the Speaker’s podium and protested. When they did not budge even after repeated requests by the Speaker, he suspended eleven of them including Bendalam Ashok, Adireddi Bhavani, Chinarajappa, Ganababu, Bhogeswara Rao, Ramakrishna Babu, Ramaraju, Gottipati Ravi, Sambasiva Rao,and Satyaprasad.

When the Opposition members raised slogans demanding a discussion on the mysterious death of 18 people in Jangareddygudem of West Godavari district and did not relent, the Legislative Affairs Minister Buggana Rajendranath moved a motion for the suspension of TDP MLAs.

The Chief Minister noted that it was not possible to brew illicit liquor at a place where 55,000 people lived. But some media channels, their owners and Chandrababu Naidu were using the Jangareddygudem incident for a malicious campaign. He explained that a special institution was set up to curb illicit liquor and during the past two years, as many as 13,000 cases were registered under this.
