11 peddlers held with 45 kg ganja, MDMA in Cyberabad

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Police Special Operations Teams from Madhapur and Balanagar arrested 11 persons on charges of drug peddling from Madhapur, Bachupally and Rajendranagar on Wednesday. Police seized 50 grams of Methylenedioxy Methamphetamine (MDMA), 45 kilos of marijuana, 11 mobile phones and three cars from them.

At Madhapur, the police arrested Mohd Bin Hassan Kolani, Rahed Ali Nihal, Yasin Khan, Iftekar Ahmed and K Rakesh in possession of MDMA. It was found that Kolani, who is allegedly addicted to drugs, frequently visited Mumbai and procured drugs from one Ifthekar. Police seized 45 grams MDMA from them.

At Bachupally, the police arrested one M.Srinivas from Pragathi Nagar who was transporting 3 grams of MDMA in his car. Based on his confession, two others, Jude Jeevan and A.Bhavani Shankar, were arrested and 2 grams of MDMA was seized from them. Srinivas procured the drug from his sources in Andhra Pradesh and Bengaluru.

At Rajendranagar, the police arrested P Krupender, Noor Mohammed Abdul Salem Patel and Govinda Ravinder Basvishwal and seized 45 kg of marijuana from them.

The Cyberabad Police have in the last two months registered 132 criminal cases and arrested 257 persons for drug peddling. They seized 263 kg of marijuana, MDMA, Ecstasy pills and other drugs, while eight persons were detained under the Preventive Detention Act.
