Mancherial: Twelve persons were arrested by sleuths of a task force team for allegedly indulging in banned cockfights on the outskirts of Kolamguda village in Hajipur mandal on Friday. Two roosters, seven knives, seven motorcycles, Rs 26,340 and 12 mobile phones were recovered from their possession.
Ramagundam Task Force Inspector AK Mahender said following a tip-off, the police detained Thanugula Ramesh, Gangadhara Tirypupati, Engani Madusudhan, Enuganti Ramesh, Pettam Sekhar, Shakhapuri Venkatesh, Merugu Ajay, Allam Ravinder, Rakala Kumar, Pendram Yesuratnam, Araka Praveen and Gangadhari Vijay, all belonging to different parts of Hajipur mandal.
