Jangaon: Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Friday said the State government led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is providing sarees and other clothes to the people of the State during important festivals like Bathukamma, Dasara and Ramzan.
He was speaking after distributing Bathukamma sarees to the beneficiaries of Palakurthy, Devaruppula and Kodakandla mandals in the district along with District Collector K Nikhila at a function hall at Palakurthy.
Addressing the women at the programme, he said that a total of 13.23 lakh sarees would be distributed to the women aged above 18 years in erstwhile Warangal district. “The State government is handing over 1.02 crore women from 20,36,234 families spending Rs 317 crore. While 110 colour variant sarees were distributed last year, this year, we are providing 287 colour variants,” he said, adding: “In Jangaon district alone, 2.06 lakh sarees will be distributed.”
