1309 Asha workers receive smartphones in Warangal, Hanamkonda

Warangal: As many as 1309 Asha workers from both the Warangal and Hanamkonda districts were given smart phones at a programme in Hanamkonda on Friday.
Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao has handed over the smart phones to 693 Asha workers from Warangal district and 616 workers from Hanamkonda district. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Dayakar Rao said that the State government was providing smartphones with four SIM cards to a total of 27,000 Asha workers in the State.
“While the Asha workers used to get Rs 1500 salary per month before formation of the Telangana State, now they are getting Rs 9750 per month as Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was moved by the plight of the Asha workers with little remuneration,” he added.
The Minister said that the Asha workers of the Gujarat State, which is home state of Prime Minister Modi, are getting only Rs 4,000 per month salary. He said that the government would soon provide NCD (Non Communicable Diseases) kits to chronically ill patients. Government Chief Whip Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, and others were present at the programme.
