Apart from this 12 students bagged seats in Central Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs) while seven were accepted in IIITs. The list of successful students included children of farm labourers, daily-wage workers, auto drivers, security guards, drivers, tea sellers, mechanics, vendors, vegetable sellers, and so on.
In appreciation of this achievement, the Minister for Scheduled Caste Development Department, Koppula Eashwar congratulated the students and teachers and said, “Telangana is committed to providing the best quality education in the Government’s Welfare Residential Educational Institutions on par with the corporate institutions.”
Ronald Rose, Secretary, TSWREIS, also congratulated the students and appreciated the efforts of all the teachers towards nurturing the dreams of a better future for these children. He further noted that the number of students securing seats in IITs/NITs has increased significantly since last year. In 2020, 84 students from TSWREIS made it to IIT/NIT.
