An ACP rank officer is designated to each GHMC circle as Nodal Officer for coordinating with election authorities. “Two officers are assigned to a polling location and they are taking responsibility of the area. They are trained and sensitised in all activities of election and will act as process managers for the polling process,” he said. There are 10 distribution, reception and counting centres across Cyberabad.

The Commissioner said that regular vehicle checking is organized at check posts set up at 15 places to check flow of money and liquor, flag march and area domination exercise is being done. “Also 11 flying squad teams and 11 static surveillance teams are working 24/7 in three shifts and organizing random and surprise checks to ensure model code. This apart, camera mounted patrolling vehicles are being used in public meetings/ rallies, processions and in sensitive areas,” Sajjanar said.

So far, 157 licensed arms are deposited with the police and trouble mongers, rowdy sheeters were bound over for good conduct. The Cyberabad police are using IT applications and doing Geo tagging application, closed circuit cameras and Cyberabad whatsapp control is used to take complaints from citizens. “Social Media is being monitored closely by three teams round the clock. Stringent action will be taken up against mischief mongers and rumour mongers who use social media to create unrest/panic,” the Commissioner said.
