14 women workers injured as lift collapses in Telangana’s Sangareddy
The cable wire snapped off at the third floor and the lift fell to the ground floor at Beeramguda Kaman in RC Puram mandal; several women sustained fractures
Sangareddy: A lift packed with people beyond its capacity crashed after its cable wire snapped at Beeramguda Kaman in RC Puram mandal on Monday afternoon. As many as 14 women sustained injuries while 10 of them suffered serious injuries.
According to victims, the women were roped in to work at a clothes showroom, which is being prepared for inauguration. The cable wire snapped off from the third floor and fell to the ground floor. Several women sustained fractures. They were rushed to a local hospital.
The condition of a couple of them is said to be critical. Meanwhile, the kin of the victims accused the owner of the shop of acting negligently at the work site. They demanded justice.
