Hyderabad: In line with the decision of ramp-up Covid-19 vaccination in Telangana, the health department has administered 65,468 first dose vaccines on Wednesday. In the coming days the number of vaccine doses administered per day is expected to be increased to 1.25 lakh and 1.50 lakh, senior health officials said.
Overall, so far 14,03,416 individuals, which includes persons above 60 years, healthcare workers, frontline workers, persons between 45 years and 59 years with pre-existing conditions and those with no comorbidities, have received the first dose of Covid vaccine in Telangana. A total of 2,76,906 individuals, including all categories of beneficiaries, have completed their first and second dose of Covid-19 vaccines.
As per the eVIN portal, Telangana has so far received 17,99,380 doses of Covid-19 vaccine, 40,540 doses exclusively for armed forces and another 21,470 vaccines were allocated for advanced scheduling across various Covid Vaccination Centres.
The net vaccine consumption in the State is at 17,37,820 while the percentage of vaccine wastage is at 3.31, the vaccine bulletin from Director of Public Health (DPH) said.
