15 calves rescued in Ghatkesar, two arrested during illegal transport check
Police rescued 15 calves and arrested two persons during a vehicle check at Yamnampet in Ghatkesar. The animals were allegedly being transported illegally from Tuni cattle market to Hyderabad. The calves and vehicle were seized, and an investigation is underway.

Hyderabad: The police rescued 15 calves allegedly being transported illegally to a slaughterhouse and arrested two persons during vehicle checks at Yamnampet in Ghatkesar on Wednesday midnight.
Following a tip-off, officials intercepted a goods vehicle coming from Warangal and found 15 calves – 13 male and two female – tied with ropes and covered with a tarpaulin without proper ventilation.
The driver, V Srinivasa Rao, and helper Chandaka Kashi Babu were taken into custody.
Based on their confession, police said the calves were being transported from the Tuni cattle market to Bahadurpura on the instructions of a cattle trader.
The animals and vehicle were seized, and a case was registered. The rescued calves were shifted to a safe location.
