16,448 posts to be engaged in the health care department in Telangana for one more year

To ensure uninterrupted healthcare and medical education, Telangana has extended 16,448 temporary posts in government hospitals and colleges for one year. These include doctors, nurses, faculty, and support staff working on contract, outsourcing, and honorarium basis under the DME

Hyderabad: To ensure continuity of healthcare services and medical education in government hospitals till permanent posts are filled, the State government on Sunday issued orders to engage 16,448 posts that fall under the Director of Medical Education (DME) for one more year on a contract, outsourcing and honorarium basis.

The posts include all clinical and non-clinical services and have 4,772 contract posts, 8,615 outsourcing posts, 3,056 honorarium posts and three multi-tasking staff in various categories under DME. The services of the 16,448 positions (medical services) have been extended from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026.


The posts cover government medical colleges, teaching hospitals, nursing and dental colleges in Telangana. It also includes faculty of Professors, Assistant Professors, Associate Professors, Senior Residents, doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, DEOS, class IV employees and others.
