Kamareddy: At least 17 passengers were injured, four of them seriously, when a Maharashtra Road Transport Corporation bus turned turtle at Tekriyal of Kamareddy district headquarters on NH44 on Sunday.

A total of 38 passengers were in the bus when the accident occurred. The driver, in an attempt to save a two-wheeler rider, took a sharp turn and lost control over the wheel, leading to the accident.

The bus was proceeding to Nanded from Hyderabad, Devunipally police, who rushed to the spot, said. They shifted the injured persons to the Kamareddy district hospital for treatment.

The bus passengers alleged that the driver was in an inebriated condition and was driving the vehicle rashly. Devunipalli police registered a case and further investigations are on.
